Testing Center

Faculty who would like to offer their exams in the Provo Testing Center in addition to the Salt Lake Testing Center will need to submit their exams before 9:00 a.m. two business days prior to the start of the exam. For more information, please see the Faculty page.

Testing Information

Students may take exams for BYU Salt Lake Center classes at the BYU Salt Lake Testing Center. With the exception of final exams, most BYU Salt Lake Center exams will also be available at the Heber J. Grant Building (HGB) on the Provo campus. Students can access their test scores and deadlines at testing.byu.edu. Students must be in Honor Code compliance to take their exams.

Final Exams

BYU Salt Lake Center students may take final exams at the BYU Salt Lake Testing Center. During fall and winter semesters, BYU Salt Lake Center final exams will not be offered at the Heber J. Grant Building (HGB) on the Provo campus. However, most BYU Salt Lake Center finals will be offered at the Harman Testing Center (HCEB) on the Provo campus. During spring and summer terms, BYU Salt Lake Center final exams will not be available in the HCEB, however, students may take final exams at the BYU Salt Lake Testing Center and the HGB.

Can I take my final exam early?

No. University policy requires final exams to be taken on the scheduled final exam days and times.

Exams for BYU Classes Taught in Provo

Exams for classes taken at BYU in Provo are not usually offered at the BYU Salt Lake Testing Center. However, if you are interested in taking the exams for these classes at our location, please contact us for further instructions.

Independent Study

Can I take an Independent Study test at the Salt Lake Testing Center?

Yes. Students may go to the BYU Independent Study website and select the Salt Lake Testing Center as their proctor site. Please contact the testing center to make an appointment prior to coming.
